Project Management and Business Calling Are Now in Local Business Pro

Plan work on visual boards, assign tasks to your team, and add outbound web and mobile calling as a separately billed add-on. The monthly base includes one named user; additional licensed users are billed per user. See current prices in Billing before activation.

The awkward part of running a service business is not knowing that work exists. It is knowing what should happen next, who owns it, and whether the customer still needs a call.

That is why we built two major additions together. Project Management and Business Calling are now in Local Business Pro, giving your team a clearer way to organize work and a faster way to act on it without bouncing between a generic task app, a separate phone system, and the customer record.

Project Management turns work into a visual, shared pipeline. Business Calling gives licensed team members an outbound dialer in the web and mobile apps. One keeps the next action visible. The other makes the next conversation easier to start.

Project Management: turn “we should do that” into owned work

Project Management gives your team customizable Kanban boards for the real processes that keep the business moving.

In the app, open Operations → Pipeline. Access follows the Jobs permission assigned to each team member's role.

Create a board for installation projects, estimate follow-up, office operations, recurring compliance work, marketing campaigns, or the loose ends that appear after a busy Monday. Add columns that match your process, then move tasks across the board as work advances.

Every task can hold the operational detail your team needs:

  • Assign the work to a human team member.
  • Set priority, schedule dates, due dates, reminders, expected duration, and recurring schedules.
  • Start from a task template when the process repeats.
  • Add comments, approvals, blockers, and activity history.
  • Mark work complete—or reopen it when the real world has other ideas.

Updates reconcile immediately between the task drawer and Kanban board, so the team does not have to refresh the page to see what changed.

Connect tasks to the customer and the work

A task named “Call Mrs. Davis” is not very helpful when nobody remembers why.

Project Management lets your team associate tasks with contacts, jobs, estimates, invoices, and automations. That connection turns a generic to-do into an actionable business record. The person taking over can see what the task is about, move to the relevant customer or job, and keep the context attached.

This is not a sales-only pipeline. Use it anywhere work needs ownership and a visible path to done:

  • Estimate follow-up: Track which quotes need a call, revision, approval, or final decision.
  • Job coordination: Organize permits, equipment, customer updates, scheduling dependencies, and closeout work.
  • Office operations: Manage onboarding, documentation, purchasing, and recurring administrative tasks.
  • Marketing and growth: Coordinate campaigns, approvals, assets, launch dates, and follow-up.

Boards can match the work instead of forcing every department into the same process.

Business Calling: your business phone inside Local Business Pro

Business Calling gives authorized team members outbound calling in the Local Business Pro web application and mobile app.

Open the dialer, place a customer call, and review outbound call history without switching to a separate phone workspace. Call history shows the status, time, and duration of recent calls. On mobile, team members also have practical in-call controls for speaker, mute, and keypad use.

Business Calling is a separately billed add-on with named-user seats. It is available to eligible accounts with an active supported Local Business Pro billing plan. The monthly base charge includes one named user, and additional licensed users carry a per-user charge. Billing shows the current prices before activation.

For an eligible account, an administrator enables the add-on in Billing, completes the calling checklist, and assigns seats to the active team members who need access. Before the first call, the business needs an active business number, agreement to the outbound calling terms, and a ready calling service. Calls can begin when concurrent call capacity is available. If calling has not been enabled, Local Business Pro directs eligible administrators to Billing.

The result is controlled access for the team and one consistent calling experience across office and field work.

The better workflow is the one that closes the loop

These features are strongest together because a board full of tasks is only useful when the next action happens.

Imagine an estimator moves a task into Customer Follow-Up. The task is already connected to the contact and estimate, the owner and due date are clear, and the assigned team member can place the outbound call from Local Business Pro. After the conversation, they can leave a comment, move the task forward, or mark it complete.

Or consider a multi-stage installation. The operations board can track equipment, approvals, customer updates, scheduled work, and closeout. When a call is needed, the authorized team member has the business dialer available on the web or mobile app. The project stays visible, the customer context stays close, and the follow-through has an owner.

No scavenger hunt. No mystery spreadsheet called FINAL-final-2.xlsx. No task marooned in somebody's personal notes.

What your team can put to work now

Build one board around a process that already matters

Start with a workflow your team runs every week. Estimate follow-up, active installations, office requests, and job closeout are good candidates because the ownership and next steps are easy to recognize.

Create only the columns you need. Add a few real tasks, assign owners, connect the relevant records, and use the board long enough to learn where work actually slows down.

Give calling access to the people who need it

Open Billing to review the current monthly base and additional-user prices. If the account is eligible, enable the paid add-on, set up an active business number, agree to outbound calling terms, confirm the calling service is ready, and assign seats to active team members. The web application is a natural fit for office staff; the mobile app gives field and traveling team members the same outbound calling access when they are away from a desk and concurrent call capacity is available.

Make the task carry the handoff

Use comments, activity history, approvals, and blockers so the next person does not need a separate meeting to understand the work. If the task is about a customer, job, estimate, invoice, or automation, connect that record while the context is fresh.

Two features, one clearer operating rhythm

Project Management gives the business a shared view of work. Business Calling helps authorized team members act on the customer conversations inside that work. Together, they make ownership, follow-up, and progress easier to see.
